Michelle Bridges WIAW!

yes it’s Wednesday so it’s once again time for:

as you know I have started my 12 week eating plan bought to you by this lovely lady:

Michelle Bridges! She rocks!

So anyway here a few of my meals from this week!

Oat porridge with Berries - 268 cals

Scrambled eggs with Ricotta, Spinach, Tomato and bacon - 297 cals

Cottage Cheese toast with Tomato and Rocket - 291 cals

Smoked Salmon and Avocado wrap, with spinach, cucumber and red onion - 288 cals

Minestrone - huge serving for 269 cals

Kangaroo with spinach, chickpea, tomato and basil salad - 326 cals

Zucchini, green bean and beef stir-fry with hoisin sauce - 3338 cals

As you can see all the food is amazing and it is pretty filling. I am enjoying trying new things. Although I don’t think M is too impressed. We had the stir-fry for tea tonight and he really didn’t enjoy it! It make’s it really hard as I don’t want to cook two separate meals and some night’s I have to make different things for P as well, although I should just make him eat what we are having! The joy’s of parenting!

I have had a good day today! I had an appointment for some allergy tests this afternoon so I booked P into childcare for the day, as there is no way I was going to bring him! I dropped him off around 10am and then went straight to the gym. I had an awesome work out, burning 673 calories. I also had another personal best of running without stopping for 4.5k! I was so happy and was exhausted as I was running for 38:30 minutes! I amaze myself every time I get on that treadmill! Next goal – 5k as I am running 5k next Sunday as part of the Melbourne marathon. I am excited now as I am pretty confident that I will be able to do it, even though I have not done much running outside! I hope to get an outside run done on Saturday morning before the AFL Grand final!!

After my gym session I raced home for a quick lunch (smoked salmon wrap) and a shower before heading out the door to catch the train to the city to my appointment.  I was having test’s done as I believe I am lactose intolerant and I had a reaction sometime back to Flathead fish, so wanted to clear that all up. Well my suspicions were confirmed I am in fact lactose intolerant :( I guess that mean soy milk of lactose free milk for me! The fish allergy is a weird one and I had blood tests done but I of course have to wait and see the results. I’m on the waiting list now to have skin tests done but for now I have to carry an epipen with me and avoid white fish! Hopefully by next year (as that is when my next appointment is) they can get to the bottom of my allergy!

I’m going to leave it there as I’m hungry again and I wanna watch Glee, so I’ll be off!

Do you have an strange allergies? What are they and do you have to avoid certain foods?

Trying Something New!

I am so happy and excited to announce that I lost 1.2kg this week!!!

Can you believe it! I know I can’t!!

So what have I been doing different?

Well for one thing I have been logging all my food on MyFitnessPal.com. I have found this a really useful tool for weight loss and I’m kicking myself that I didn’t use it earlier! It does take a bit of effort logging recipes as you need all the nutrition info, but you can easily access that from such sites as this and on food labels.

One thing I love about My Fitness Pal is it tells you how many calories you have left, which I think has helped me (most days) make better choices! Plus you add in any exercise that you have done and it takes that into consideration too, although I don’t always like to use up all those calories.

The other thing that has been working for me is Michelle Bridges’ Crunch time cook book. I have pretty much been having main meals from that book since I bought it last Wednesday! I’ll show you some of my meals tomorrow in my WIAW edition.

As M has been away I have not been working out as much as I would have liked, so I was also just trying to keep check of my food and keep active! I was so happy when M finally came home on Friday! Mentally I was pretty drained from looking after P all week. On Saturday I wrote a huge post about how frustrating parenting can be and how hard my week was, then wordpress logged me out and I lost the whole, damn, thing!!! To say I was pissed off would be an understatement. But you know what wordpress actually did me a favour, as I managed to dump all my thoughts out, and I think that is all I needed to do. After that I went to the gym and did a mega session!

I ran, without stopping, for….. 34 minutes!!!! Another personal best for me and at a 1% incline I managed to do 4k in that time. I did another 12 minutes of walking to bring me to a total of 46 minutes, 5k and 507 calories burned. But I didn’t stop there I decided I would do all my strength training exercises and my core training exercises, that took me another 40 minutes and 317 calories burned! I came home feeling so much better and in a much better head space and I burnt 824 calories!

I was pretty wiped out from my workout so when we put P down for his sleep, both M and I decided we would have naps too! Oh it was so nice to just have a rest but I was still soooo sleepy when I woke up and M and I couldn’t decide what to have for tea so we ended up having Pizza!!! I’m glad I worked out as I needed those extra calories!! Plus we polished off two bottles of red wine (yeah so my no drinking has really gone out the window!!). But you know what it was a nice night and we even snuggled under the doona and watched a couple of DVD’s, well M did as I feel asleep!!!

Sunday I had a relaxing morning and then in the afternoon headed off to a birthday party for one of the kid’s from playgroup. It was the perfect weather and P loved playing on all the play equipment! So much so that he wouldn’t even come and sing Happy Birthday! He eventually came off the playground and had not one but 2 pieces of cake at the same time!!! He had a ball and really did not want to go home! I was running after him all afternoon so it made up for the fact I didn’t officially workout that day!

Do I have something on my face?

On Monday I got up early and hauled my butt to the gym at 6am. I have to say I am so glad that daylight saving starts this weekend as it was light at 6am when I went to the gym!!! I ran on the treadmill for 20 minutes and the whole run sucked. It didn’t feel good and my legs felt heavy. After about 5 minutes at a 1% incline I turned it down to nothing as I was not enjoying it at all and I was very happy to get off! I did 10 minutes on the summit climber after that and then a couple of core exercises before heading home. I did 43 minutes of exercise and burnt 412 cals, not my best effort, but I was glad I just got out there and did something as M is away for work again I wasn’t sure when I would get in the gym again!

Monday was also day 1 of my new 12 week eating plan and I have to say I went pretty good! I had a few snacks here and there, but overall I was pretty good:

Totals 1488 235 34 49
Your daily goal 1832 251 60 68
Remaining 384 16 26 19
Calories Carbs Fat Protein

*You’ve earned 412 extra calories from exercise today

My day today has been really good too:

Totals 1316 198 24 65
Your Daily Goal 1420 195 47 53
Remaining 104 -3 23 -12
  Calories Carbs Fat Protein

I’ll leave you there as I have some awesome pic’s to show you for WIAW!! But before I go here is a another pic of my crazy beautiful P!

I'm in a boat Mummy!

Have you tried anything new to lose weight recently? Any good weight loss cookbooks that you use? I’d love to know!!

Happy Monday! Is that even possible?

Yes, I am pretty happy today!

I sucessfully got up early and hauled forced myself out of bed and got to the gym at about 6am!

I am really glad I did as I feel really good today! It is true what they say that you never regret a workout!

I definitely don’t regret this one! Check my figures out:

Not to shabby!!!

I am really happy to learn that I have actually been burning more cals than I thought!

I did 20 minutes (5 minutes walking, 15 minutes running with a 1% incline) on the treaddy and 10 minutes on the summit climber, plus my core weights training.

Tomorrow is weigh in day and I have everything crossed that I will get a loss!

I have been fairly well behaved on the food front, although we had tea at M’s parent’s house last night and it was Lasagna and Apple crumble with Custard!!! I have no idea how many calories that it was and we also didn’t have any salad or veggies served with it either, so I can’t even say I ate a huge amount of veg!! Oh well I’ll just have to be super disciplined today and hope that my workout this morning will make up for last night’s tea!!

P has seemed to handle childcare a bit better on Friday so fingers crossed he will be ok this week! It really breaks your heart when you leave him there and he is hysterical! He also was crying before we got into the car which made things difficult! Hoping this week will be better!

I haven’t been getting to the gym or doing much exercise lately, which is not great. We are in week 8 of our 12 week challenge and so far I have lost 1.7kg! I think my goal was 7 kilos but cannot remember. We have a photo shoot in 2 weeks time which is meant to be celebrating our weight loss and it is going to suck if I have not lost much weight! So what am I going to do? Well firstly I am going to commit to working out in the morning Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (This of course depends if M is starting early or not) Tuesday nights I am going to go back to Pilates and on Saturday and Sunday I am going to do some form of exercise whether it is a walk with P and Chili or going to the gym or doing my workout game. Food wise I am going to have to be soooo good I really would love to get to 70 kilos soon and fit into a size 12!!! So going to be having a lot of salads, soups and healthy dinners.

My food has been great today I had porridge with apple and cinnamon and for morning tea I just had two small mandarin’s but I’m still feeling a bit peckish so I might have some yoghurt.

Lunch today will be soup with toast and Dinner tonight is meatballs with spaghetti and salad. Since having my new nutritional scales it has been so easy to work out how many calories are in meals that I make. Before a lot of the time I was just guessing or looking it up on the internet. Now I can be much more accurate and it’s great! Sure, it is time consuming but I would so much rather take a few extra minutes and know for sure instead of guessing!

Well my stomach is grumbling and there is washing to be hung out to dry so I better make a move!

Till next time…..

End of 12 week Challenge.

So this is my post that I started on Tuesday, before the computer stuffed up and I lost 3/4 of it!!!

As my title suggests today is the very last day of our 12 week challenge.

It is hard to believe that 12 weeks ago it was February, the weather was somewhat warm and I was trying to lose weight but not very successfully.

Well I am pleased to announce that I lost a kilo this week!! Wahoo! Putting me at 77.5kg! I haven’t weighed that since about September last year, just before I slacked off and put on a few kilos! But on a more exciting note, M measured me last Thursday and I have lost 17.5cm off my body! The most cm lost was on my thighs with 7cm!!! can you believe it!! I thought they were shrinking!! I lost about 2cm off my waist which bring my waist to under 100cm, which is the smallest it has been in ages! My arms have also shrunk by about a cm too!

So since Tuesday what have I been up to?

Well after my last post, which was nearly a fortnight ago I have been to the Gym a few times in the morning and went for a massive session last Sunday. I burnt nearly 600 cals and did 90 minutes of cardio and about 20 minutes of weights! I was so sore after that that I did not make it to the gym till Wednesday morning!

Another exciting thing I achieved on the Sunday Session (My nick name for my huge workout) was I ran without stopping for 10 minutes, not only did I do it once but I did it twice, with only a five minute walk in-between! I was pretty happy with myself and I can really see that I am getting fitter!

I haven’t been to the gym much at all this week, I was all set to go Thursday and Friday mornings but P has been a little bit unwell and has had me up during the night. That’s ok though, we went for a walk on Friday to a new park I discovered while checking out Kinders for P, for next year. I decided to take Chili as well as it has a huge oval  and I was able to let her off her lead. She loves going off the lead and runs around like crazy. P had a good time too playing on the playground and jumping in the muddy puddles (thanks to Peppa pig, he now knows what puddles are!!).

M and I had discussed going to the drive-in’s that night to see Thor, as we both really enjoy Marvel comics movies. I checked the times and the earliest session was at 6:50pm, I personally thought it was a little early, but the next session wasn’t till 11:55pm!!! So I decided maybe we would give it a miss and go another night as M had drinks after work and who knows what time he would make it home. At 6pm M rang to say he was leaving work then and should we still go, I changed my mind a few times before deciding to go. I threw P’s pyjamas on him and changed my outfit, grabbed a few supplies and jumped in the car. by this time it was 6:30pm and the movie started in 20 minutes. I was meeting M outside the drive-ins and we were all jumping into his car. I made it just a little after 6:50pm and we headed inside, of course we didn’t have time for tea before hand, so we ate cinema junk, actually my chicken burger wasn’t too bad, I’ve definitely had worse! The movie was pleasant and a bit of a perve-fest! Yummy Chris Hemsworth (An Aussie!!) was pretty good and Natalie Portman was pretty good too!Not the greatest movie I have ever seen but not too bad. P was pretty well behaved too.

When we got home it was about 9:30pm, so it was nice to be home early, P went to bed and I caught up on all the blogs I haven’t read for a while. Which was great as they always inspire me to try new things and start new challenges. Holly from the Runny Egg has started a grocery challenge where the for the whole month of May she and her husband are only spending $200 for the whole month on groceries! It is really worth a read and she comes up with some very inventive and cost saving dishes to eat. Which got me thinking could I do that? The rule that Holly goes by is $100 per person and it doesn’t include your toiletries or meals out. So in our case it would be $300 for the whole month. I normally spend that in a fortnight, but we do have a very full pantry and I reckon I have about 5 or 6 meals that I have made in Tupperware containers in the freezer. I am willing to give it a go, what have I got to lose??? In fact I have only things to gain, like Money saved!! I’m going to go through the pantry and freezer and take a log of what is exactly in there and come up with some meals that I can make with what we have. Stay tuned, I’m excited!!!!

Well Today is an absolutely glorious day. The sun is out and even though it is a little windy (well it is Melbourne!!) it is just wonderful!

We started the day with a lovely breakfast (cooked by yours truly) of poached eggs, bacon, wholemeal toast and fried tomato for me and fried mushrooms for M and of course our regular brewed coffee. After breakfast I showered and dressed while P played outside with Chili. Then we all headed off to P’s swimming. It was M’s turn today to go in with him and P did so well! I was a very proud Mumma. He actually swam with the pool noodle around him today, of course M was holding it, but this is huge, as usually he screams and yells and doesn’t want to have anything to do with the damn pool noodle!! So as a reward for doing so well we took him to the shops for a donut, of course I couldn’t help myself and ended up getting a strawberry and cream iced donut. I  wish I had decided not to eat it as it was sooooooo sweet, sickly sweet actually. When will I learn???

We came home after that and since it was so nice outside I decided to clean up the back yard a little bit.  Chili has branches of a bush that she is slowly destroying all over the back yard, and there were bark chips everywhere, plus I needed to take the washing off the line. P joined me and was even helping me for a bit. M got into the sun as well and even measured up a section of our yard that we are going to make into a veggie garden! Looking forward to that project getting started! P even had his lunch outside; It truly is such a lovely day. Now I’m inside on here, seems a waste really!

I am about to head outside again soon, as there a few towels that need to go on the line but before I do that I will leave you with a few of my new goals.

As far as weight loss goes I start my new 10 week challenge on the 30th May with F and K again, I wanna lose a kilo by then getting me down to 76.5kg, with my overall goal to lose another 5 kilos. If I get down to 70 kg I’ll be very happy, but even if I lose just the 5 kilos, I’ll still be very happy. Ultimately I want to get to 60kg, but I’m not sure if I’ll get there before falling pregnant again.

Another sort of goal I have is to get through a novel a month, for 6 months. I have a heap of novels in my bookcase that I have not read and I used to read books all the time. I guess other things took up my time and especially when P was little I was too tired, I’d start reading and fall asleep! The novel I am reading at the moment is called “The Summer Garden” By Paullina Simmons. I actually only started reading it again last night, after re-reading a few bits I am caught up with where I left it. I actually stopped reading this book before I had P, I think maybe at the time I was too obsessed with books about giving birth, that I stopped reading novels, either that or I got bored. The book is very long and is the third and final instalment in a series that started with “The Bronze Horseman” and then “The Bridge to Holy Cross” about Russian couple called Tatiana and Alexander. It is set in Russia during WWII and details their meeting, falling in love and etc. The Summer Garden is set in America and details their lives after the war. Anyway the first two novels I could not put down, but this one is different and I’m looking forward to finishing it. The next novel I will read after that is called”Change of Heart” and it is written by Jodi Picoult. She is one of my favourite authors and once again I have not even looked at one of her novels since before falling pregnant with P.

Well I best be off! Till next time….get out and enjoy some sun!

Do you have a book you have started and never finished? Who are your favourite authors? Do you have books on your shelves waiting to be read?   I would love to know!

Morning Workouts are the New Black

Well they are in my world!

Hope you all had a pleasant weekend and got out in some sunshine!

Well as the title suggests I have been going to the gym in the morning. This means I have been setting my alarm for 5:45am, snoozing once, throwing on my gym gear, tying my hair up, telling Chili to go back to bed (Chili is our Dog incase you haven’t read previous posts) and tiptoeing out the front door into the car and off to the gym. I have been getting to the gym at about 6:05am, pretty good I think, although by the time I put my bag and jacket in the locker and grab my drink bottle and towel it is 6:10am and I have wasted 10 minutes of precious workout time. Will have to work on it more on Thursday!! Anyway, I do 30 minutes cardio (20 minutes treaddy, 10 minutes bike or cross trainer – which ever is free) and about 10-15 minutes weights depending on how much time I have left, then back in the car and back home to my sleeping boys (It’s like I was never gone!) By about 7am. P normally wakes up shortly after and M is normally laying in bed half asleep waiting for his next alarm to go off, while I am in the kitchen putting the coffee pot on  the stove.

I thought it would be harder to haul my butt out of bed and although it would be easier to just lie in bed on my days off, I know later on I will not feel like going and like Lea from Health with Happiness says you can feel smug all day knowing that you have worked out already!!!

Another positive spin on my new found love of morning workouts is I have more energy! Weird I know! But I do, I thought I would feel extremely tired and want a nap in the afternoon, but so far (Being 2 morning workouts) so good! I went yesterday morning to the gym and I love the fact that it is dark when you get there and almost light by the time you leave. There are so many people for that time of morning!! I was quite surprised! So I am very happy with going to the gym in the morning now and have decided I will go in the morning Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, go to Pilates on a Tuesday night and do a longish workout on either Saturday or Sunday, as P has swimming on Saturdays it will most likely be Sunday but you never know, I may feel inspired to head into the gym after P’s swimming, as his swimming is at the same place as my gym!

On Friday I ended up planning all our meals for the next month, it took me a while but almost every single meal is a new recipe. I am looking forward to our month of new recipes on tonight’s menu is Bacon wrapped Chicken and Mushroom patties with steamed veg and pasta (one of the packet mixes).

I weighed in this morning and I lost a kilo! Hooray! I now weigh 78.2kg. I have decided that since our challenge finishes in 2 weeks I am not going to make it to my original goal of losing 5 kg, however I am going to try to get to 76kg, I don’t know if I will or not but I can give it my best shot, even if I don’t reach it I will still have lost weight (Hopefully) and be on track to losing some more for the next challenge.

I was feeling inspired yesterday so I did up a meal plan for my self for the week, which I can use over and over again and I have varied my breakfasts and lunches as tea is covered by previous planning . I find if I have worked out what I am going to eat for the day it takes my mind of it and I don’t have to think is this too many calories, etc. I have already done all my planning; so all I need to do is eat my required food and hopefully my planning will pay off and I’ll see some results on the scales! I’ll keep you posted! The other reason I am doing this is I am tiring of counting calories all the time, it is very time consuming and to be honest it is getting on my nerves, so I figured if I just spend a bit of extra time working out all the calories in one go then I will save myself the time and frustration later!

I was chatting to a good friend of mine today on Facebook and we were chatting about my job situation as in I’m not sure if I should go and get another job as I don’t wanna just work to pay childcare but after talking to her today I realised that I can go looking for a job, as the government covers a lot of childcare fees now, of course I will still need to enquire a bit more but I am going to look at a childcare centre on the way home today (M if you are reading I may be home a little later, lol!) and one on Thursday. The one on Thursday does sound very promising and has all days available, which is good, the one this afternoon has every day except Friday free, which kinda sucks as I was hoping to start P off on a Friday (and for convenience when I go away on my girls weekend!!). Anyway, I’m just looking, I have heard good things about both centres and I am keeping my options open, plus I need to chat to M about all this! P will have to do an orientation to start off with as childcare can be quite dramatic for a child who has never been looked after by anyone other than family and close friends, plus I don’t want it to be too dramatic for me!!

Well Tummy is grumbling again so I should go but I have decided after reading a few other blogs that I am going to post a question at the end and see how many responses I get, I wont do it all the time, but just as a test to see!

Till next time….Get that butt outta bed and get training!

What time of day do you like to work out? Does anyone have any tips about how to make getting out of bed in the morning to go workout any easier? I would love to hear your opinions!

Feel like I’m going round in circles!!!

I have decided that I do not like this much time off!!!

Easter this year I have just struggled to eat right! It seems like as soon as I eat one crappy meal that’s it! The rest of my eating seems to go out the window and having all this extra chocolate in the house really does not help!!!

Last wednesday when I was driving home from work I received a phone call from my gym. I thought it was another personal trainer ringing me to see about personal training, but instead they were ringing me to tell me I had won the Easter raffle! I was pretty excited as I had only bought three tickets the day before and had no idea when they were being drawn. The money raised was going to the Good Friday appeal so spending $5 on raffle tickets was nothing really! I was pretty excited and went to collect it the next day. I won 6 months membership, a YMCA T-shirt, drink bottle, socks, cap, goggles, swim cap and get this a ginormous chocolate easter egg and about 30 medium sized eggs!!!! I was quite surprised that a gym would put chocolate into their fitness hamper, but maybe they thought someone with lots of children would eat the chocolate. The worst thing is it isn’t even really nice chocolate, so how do I get rid of it?????? I ate a couple of eggs and it wasn’t too bad, P had a few as he’ll eat anything but there is so much chocolate he can’t eat it all!

My weekend then progressed into dinner on Thursday night. I had been soooooooooooooooooo good all day not snacked or anything and I was pretty hungry! Earlier in the day when I was getting stuff out of the car (including that damn hamper) I managed to roll my ankle! It hurt when I did it but I didn’t think much of it and proceeded to clean my house. by the time I was getting ready to go out for dinner I noticed my ankle was hurting a fair bit but just continued to shove those heels on and put up with it. Dinner was nice the service was a bit slow and the restaurant was not as warm as it could be but overall it was good. We ordered garlic bread for entree which they forgot about and we got just before mains, but it was pretty yummy! I ordered The marinated lamb skewers with tzatiki, salad and chips and M had a steak. I really should learn to listen to my body and stop when I am full, but because the food was so nice and I have this thing where I hate wasting food (I think from when I was a child – Think of the starving children in Africa, etc) I over ate and came out feeling very full!!! I even had a yummy raspberry hot chocolate and a M and I shared a mini lemon meringue pie with ice cream. I did enjoy my dinner I just should have stopped when I was full!!!

On Friday I was meant to go do the 1000 Steps with F and K but as i had rolled my ankle it wasn’t a very good idea and I just pretty much rested it at home, which I hate doing as I was really looking forward to doing the steps! Saturday we had Lamb Shanks done in the slow cooker and roast veg, I ended up putting a little too much oil in the pan for the veg, so they were a bit greasy but very yummy then on Sunday we had a lamb roast at M’s Parents house and then on Monday we had a roast chicken at  a friends place!!!!! TOO MANY FATTY DINNERS!!!!!!

By the time we got to Tuesday I was pretty much over fatty food! We went for a drive up to Bendigo to visit my Sister R and her boyfriend S and of course went out for Lunch as you do. I did order pizza but it was a Tandoori Chicken one and was oh so yummy with chunks of chicken, mango chutney, roasted red capsicum, spinach and a mint yoghurt sauce on top. Soo good and not too large either. We also went for a walk after lunch through a lovely park and P had a long play on the playground. The weather was awesome so nice and sunny!!! After a while P was getting tired so we headed back to S’s house put P to bed and R showed us the XBOX Kinect that S has. It was pretty impressive I must say and I quite enjoyed the fitness game they have that tailors a workout plan just for you! Although the image of yourself is very intrusive and it is quite confronting to see every part of you outlined!!!  Anyway we played a few games and they were quite a workout! We stayed for a yummy tea of Chicken Quesadilla Which we added some salad mix and avocado too. After throwing P in the bath we piled back into the car for our nearly 2 hour trip home. We were quite tired and of course P had fallen asleep about 20 minutes from home so we put him straight to bed and we weren’t to far out of bed either.

Overall this weekend was a lot of fun and there was lots of family time, which is great! M and I don’t normally have 5 days where we are both not working, so it was a welcome break. I did manage to go for a 3.5km walk with K on the Monday with my ankle strapped as I have been a bit nervous about going to the gym, and my results on the scale really show how unfocused I have been this week as I put back on 1.1kg!!!! I really am not surprised just disappointed in my choices and will power. So for this 12 week challenge I have lost 0.0kg!!! In fact I have gained 800g! I do feel (as my title suggests) I am going round in circles. One week I lose a heap the next week gain it back and repeat!!! It is my own fault, I can’t blame easter for letting us have an extra long break. I just have to accept the fact that I need to try harder.

Well that’s all for now hopefully I can report back with better results next week and get back on track! Till next time….Chin up!

Back to Pilates and Happy Easter!

I actually did go to pilates last night and I am so glad Carlos was only doing three repetitions as I am aching all over today. A good thing I know but I am certainly glad that today is my rest day! I did find that I was able to do a lot more things again like in this earlier post
http://tryingtobeayummymummy.wordpress.com/2010/09/21/under-80kg/
and I was able to hold some positions for longer! There is still one position that I struggle with and I can’t for the life of me find a picture of it, but basically you are lying on your side with one arm holding you up and your legs slightly tucked behind the other arm is raised in the air and using your arm strength you push up your body onto your knees. It sounds weird I’ll have to get M to take a pic of me doing it. I can do one or two but by the third one I am wrecked I guess if I keep going on a Tuesday night then I can get better!

Our computer at home is on the blink at the moment. Really not sure what is wrong with it! So I know I have been promising to post some pictures It’s going to have to wait!! Unless I can get some off facebook. Hmm will have a look into it!

Well it’s going to be easter on the weekend and I must say I am looking forward to it! The extended break is going to be awesome! M has from Friday to Tuesday off. So we both go back to work on Wednesday next week!! It is quite weird having ANZAC day intertwined with Easter, but it just means we get and extra holiday!!! This year will be the first Time P is kinda aware of the Easter Bunny so we are doing an egg hunt this year for the first time!! I am really excited as I don’t think I’ve ever done one before! The Easter Bunny just used to leave us our eggs! P definitely knows what chocolate is and he loves it!!! I can definitely see him getting stuck into the eggs before breakfast!!!

My girlfriends who I’m doing the challenge with are home at Easter too, so we have decided not to waste our weekend and catch up sometime to do the 1000 steps. Don’t ask me where they are I’ll tell you next week when I’m done.  I just looked it up (Thanks Google!) and it is in Ferntree Gully, In the Dandenong Ranges National Park. I believe it is a Kokoda walk to commemorate the trail that the Aussie Diggers took in Papua New Guinea during WWII. Unless there is some other 1000 steps! It’s actually quite fitting to do this walk this weekend since Monday will be ANZAC day (For those readers who don’t know what ANZAC day is, it is a celebration for our war veterans and is an acronym for Australian & New Zealand Army Corps. It is celebrated annually on the 25th April as that is the day that the ANZAC’s landed in Gallipoli in the First World War).

Any hoo it is getting close to my home time! I best be off! I hope you all have a very happy and safe Easter where ever you are and enjoy some easter chocolate!!

Till next time….Happy Easter!

Finally some results!!!

I am a very happy Mummy today!

Firstly I got to have a little extra sleep this morning as P didn’t wake till after 7!

Secondly I lost 1.2kg this week!!!! :)

So I now weigh 78.1kg so since the start of our 12 week challenge I was 78.4kg and have gone up and down the scale, so in total I have lost 300g which after 8 weeks is pretty crap but oh well I’m not stopping now I wanna get under 77 kilos and if I have another week like this one I’ll be well on my way!

We are in week 9 of our 12 week challenge so 4 more weeks to go! I am hoping to get to my goal of 74.8 well actually it should be 73.4 since that is 5 kilos lost since the start of the challenge Hmm that means I still have 4.7 kilos to go!!!  Oh well I can give it my best shot and see what happens! If I get to 74 kilos I’ll be a very happy Mummy!!!

I hauled my butt to the gym last night after aching all day I decided I would just do an hour of cardio as I think weights would be really pushing it and the trainers at the gym have said to give your body a days break in-between doing weights. So I did half an hour on the treadmill doing my five minutes walking, five minutes running thing and when I was doing the last lot of running I really thought I was going to fall off the damn thing but I kept going! I have been listening to my ipod a lot at the gym It’s a real motivator and just spurs you on I really enjoying pounding the treadmill in time to the music and I even managed a smile while running as I was enjoying the song so much!! So after that I did 15 minutes on the bike rollings hills again and sprinting on the flat times and then 15 minutes on the cross trainer doing the mix 3 program. By the time I had finished I had burnt 330 calories. Good thing I did too as I ended up having a second Burrito!

Tonight I am going again to the gym I might do pilates I’m not sure, as that class starts at 8:30 I think it’s too late, I like to just go to the gym do my work out and come home and relax for a bit. I definitely need to go though as Wednesday is my rest day and on Thursday it is our Anniversary and we are going out for tea. I’m pretty excited about that actually. I had a look at the menu online and it looks pretty good. Plus the place seems to have pretty good reviews athough I just looked at a few more and it looks like there appears to be slow service when busy. But I guess most places are like that when busy. I guess we will have to see the review were a few years old so hopefully service has improved. The place is also a chocolatier too so I’m looking forward to trying some chocolates!!!

Well I best be off my stomach is rumbling and even though I have had my salad I am still hungry!!! Off to have some yoghurt and stawberries! Yummo!

Till next time…..Get out there and work that butt!!
