I am still here peeps!

Posted on

No, I have not disappeared from the bloggisphere!

Yes, I have been ridiculously busy (and a little bit lazy!).

I have been looking for a new job! Don’t get me wrong I love where I am now but I really want full time hours and my work can’t offer me that right now!

Anyway it has been quite a tough and emotional journey! I have had in total; about 13 interviews but no luck yet! Just have to keep on keeping on! To top it off I was meant to start a course on Monday which would help me secure some work and now I am unable to attend as I work two days and would miss components of the course, but when they enrolled me that was ok!!!!! Grrrrrrrr wish people would get their information right! So now I am looking at enrolling myself at TAFE to get some qualifications, so hopefully I can land the perfect job for me!

Coupled with the fact that I have been job hunting also means my diet has suffered! I’m not blaming the job hunt, maybe just the stress! I have put on nearly 2kg’s in the last month due to poor food choices! I think my only saving grace would be that for the past 6 weeks I have been doing boot camp twice a week! Now that is finished too so I really need to just suck it up and get my body moving!

P has now moved up into the Kinder (Kindergarten, pre-school) room at childcare and after a couple of weeks he has finally settled in and really enjoys it and his teacher. Although he did come home with bite marks on his arm on Tuesday so a chat with his teacher was in order, but overall he is loving it. I’ll post some of his childcare photos soon!

What else has been happening? we have had a pretty couple of full on months with social occasions and some camping over Easter, which was sooooo great! We took P to see Circus Latino last weekend and he really enjoyed it! It was a small Circus made up of about 7 performers. They had a clown and few acrobats and of course some lovely curvy Latina’s! At one one point P pointed to one of the lovely ladies and goes “Big fat boobies!” we just had to laugh as she was definitely well endowed and the glittery bra must have caught P’s eye!

Not really much else to report, we have a 40th birthday party on Saturday night and Sunday is Mother’s day! Not really anything planned for that day except hopefully a sleep in!

Hope all the Mother’s out there have a very pleasant day xxxx

One year on!

Even though I have mondays off anyway, it is so nice to have my husband home!

This weekend we have been busy little bees getting our backyard in order and doing some odd jobs around the house. Well over due jobs too!

Friday night we went out for tea for a good friend’s 30th birthday, it was great and I was very well behaved. I ordered the grilled moroccan chicken burger and only had salad no chips! Plus only one glass of wine and no birthday cake! It was nice too as P was able to play with my bestie’s little girl who he adores and they are so cute together!

Saturday night we had a lovely relaxing time at home eating homemade pizza (so not healthy), watching movies and eating chocolate! Oh well one might isn’t going to hurt!

Sunday was our cleaning up day and I really felt like pancakes, so I cooked up a batch!

image

Yummo they were so good!
P really enjoyed us being outside for most of the day

He loved being our little helper and was happy to do whatever we asked! What a good boy!

As the pancakes were so filling I didn’t feel like much for lunch so I had this:

image

And it did not disappoint! So yummy and creamy! For tea we had turkey, bean and cranberry burgers and they were so yum that I didn’t take a photo!

So today is more odds jobs and hopefully this afternoon we can go and get my treadmill! At the moment it is at work and I just want it as this week has been lacking in exercise! Fingers crossed!
Well I best be off we need to fold up our tent and put it away, hope everyone is having a happy Monday!

Ok I am the worst blogger ever!

Yeah I know been slack with posting! But seriously I have been so busy!
February was filled with (in no particular order) a trip to Adelaide for my sister’s 18th birthday, a girls weekend, an awards presentation, a camping weekend, M’s birthday a surprise party and waaaaaay too much over indulgence and not enough exercise!
Here are some photo highlights.

So yeah I thought February was bad well March is shaping up to be just as busy! This month though I have really gotten back on track I have been eating right and exercising and I have also been reading some great books about weight loss. I really feel quite focused at the moment and it showed on the scales this week as I lost 1.2kg!!! So very happy. Scale says 72.1 kg

This month is also my birthday and P’s birthday so two really big events. I am not drinking at the moment, I am trying to give myself the best possible go at getting this weight off and I am just going to have a few drinks for my birthday. It is challenging this month though as we have 7 birthday celebrations (2 already been) it is really hard to say no to cake but I guess I just have to think of it as extra time running on the treadmill! Saying no to drinking is just as hard! But it will all be worth it when I get to goal weight!

We have also been working on this:

image

And P has also been eating his veggies! Very reluctantly, but he eats them! Such a proud mumma I am! The toilet training does appear to be testing my patience but I am getting there, I don’t want to give up on him, I have just struggled with it as P doesn’t seem to be making any progress. We have only had one wee on the potty in 6 days of training. Oh well he will get there, just gotta think positive!

I am off, but I wanted to leave you with an updated pic of how I am going. I was having a skinny day yesterday and felt really good!

Still have a way to go but I am getting there! 12 kilos to go!

Have a good weekend peeps!

Happy Australia Day!

Yes it is one if my fav days of the year! AUSTRALIA DAY!

image

See I am happy as anything!
This day it’s special for a couple of reasons:
1. It is the day I met M, this year it is ten years! Can’t believe it was that long ago, that we met on the dance floor at a large rover scout camp (surf moot for those in the know)!
2. It is TRIPLE J’s Hottest 100, a national radio stations, annual countdown of the past years best songs, as voted by the Aussie public. I have been listening to it almost every year for about 9 years and it is fun day, filled with way too much alcohol and bbq! Just the way I like it!
3. And I guess it is also special, as I am Australian!

Well I have go people are about to come over to listen to the second half if the count down and have some bbq tea!

Where ever you are I hope you are having a bonza Australia Day and sucking down a few tinnies! Lol
Have a good one xxx

One way to make me feel crap about myself!

So how has your day been?
Mine? Great until I was being served at spotlight and the sales assistant says:
“Gee it must be something in the water today, there are pregnant woman everywhere. When are you due?”
To which I replied:
“I’m not pregnant!”
The sales assistant looked at me and embarrassingly muttered:
“oh sorry” before changing the subject.

Seriously! I look the best I have looked in years! Yes, ok, the dress I am wearing is cut under the bust and I did wear this dress when I was pregnant, and yes it was after lunch, so I may have been a little bloated BUT I DO NOT LOOK PREGNANT!!!

Sales assistants really should be sure before asking questions like that!

Anyway, it’s over now and I am fine, just kinda annoyed. Hmmm me thinks this dress can go in the maternity clothes bag!

Have you ever had someone ask you if you were pregnant when you weren’t?

I would love to know!

Till next time…. Wear flattering dresses lol!

Regrets about crappy food!

I am kinda hating myself right now!

I have had two days of crappy foods and I can feel it! Plus not enough exercise and Mellie feels like a slug!

On Friday night I had bbq for tea which would have been ok except I had about 4 beers and two glasses of wine:-\

Yesterday we went to the zoo for a close friend’s, daughters birthday, did P have fun?

image

Why yes! Besides this pic! We had a picnic lunch and that was ok, rolls with bbq chicken, cheese and lettuce, but then it was a piece of cake here and about 4 anzac biscuits later, that I kinda felt like you could have rolled me home! We did walk a lot and when I got home P and I both proceeded to have a sleep!

I just feel fat today and know that I am probably going to gain th this week! Damn me for making crappy choices! After losing 900g the other week and then only 200g this week, I really need to get my shit together, to put it bluntly!

But today is a new day and so far so good. I have just made up some pancake batter and I am just about to cook some up. Now I know what you are thinking, pancakes are not healthy! But I added up the calories and they are about 138 each, so if I have two and top with strawberries and small amount of maple syrup, I should be fine!

I have enjoyed some really yummy meals lately, check them out!
image

This was baby beet, chickpea and fetta salad and was so tasty!
image

This is one if my favorite breakfasts at the moment, homemade museli with banana, strawberries and blueberries plus natural yoghurt. So tasty and filling!
image

And this was a really tasty vegetarian pizza I made the other day. It was Soooo good! I will post the recipe soon!

Well today is a beautiful, warm summers day, so I think I will be in the pool for most of the day, so I best be off!image

Till next time….go get some sun!

Summer in melbourne

Seriously I do love where I live but this summer is not at all what I like! I think we have had more cold and wet days than hot and sunny ones! Today is no exception. Cold and windy! I think the wind here is something that I will never get used to! It gets pretty scary and makes me want to just run away and hide! It almost makes me miss those 40 degree heat waves that Adelaide suffers from!

Anyway what a lazy day P and I are having! We are both in our pyjamas (winter ones too) sitting on the couch watching playschool (Mmmm Rhys  Muldoon is presenting today! Lol). I am enjoying snuggles with my boy!

So no walking today but my plan is once P is in bed I will try out
my new game!

Best be off only a few more minutes of playschool left! Lol

Have a great day!

First run of the year!

Well I have been super dooper good with my latest challenge! the only day I have not worked out was Sunday, but I still managed to do some house work and keep fairly active!

Today was weigh in day and all my hard work is paying off, cos I lost 900g! Yay go me! Scale says 73.6kg; 3.6kg till my first goal weight! I have 24 days till we go away, hopefully I can drop that amount before we go, but we will see!

This morning I got woken up at about 6:30 am by my little man, so got up put his shows on and went back to bed for a bit, yes I am slack but sue me, I am sure there are hundreds of parents out there who do the same! Lol! Besides I don’t really go back to sleep and by 7:30 I got up anyway. This morning breakfast was baked beans on toast with a fried egg. So tasty! After breakfast I showered, got dressed, got P dressed and we were out the door just before 10 am to go on my walk.

I waked about 6K, just under and burnt about 467 cals. Not a bad effort at all.

I had a girlfriend and her 3 girls over for lunch and a play today which was really lovely. We had such a nice catch up and her 3 girls are so gorgeous and so well behaved! P really enjoyed having them over!

After they went home and P went to sleep I decided to watch some tv, which was fine except I ate 2 milky bar fun size and a piece of pita bread with spinach and fetta dip while I was relaxing! Argh, when will I learn? Anyway after that effort I decided I should keep myself busy so did some ironing while I watched my show. M came home not long after and surprised me with the new xbox kinect fitness game! I had wanted to get it after seeing my sister play hers, so I was very excited! Will let you know how I go after I give it a crack tomorrow.

Tea wasn’t too bad but wasn’t great. I had a sausage in bread with sauce, mashed potato and sweet potato, beans,.carrot and broccoli. After that I decided I probably should go for a run to at least burn off some of those extra cals and since I actually have not ran outside all year, I was actually looking forward to it!

I did just over 3K in about 25 minutes so was happy with my time as my average lap (1 K) was about 7:41 so I know my pace had increased! And here I am after my quick run-

image

Very sweaty but happy! I hope to do a few more if these after dinner runs. It just felt good to get out and pound that pavement! I do however really need to look at getting some new runners. My feet keep getting blisters as the inside off my runners are really worn even though the outside looks pretty good the inside shows that my runners are about 2.5 years old. New socks might be in order too!

In order to really reach my goal, I have set myself a few rules.

1. No food is to be eaten after 8:30 pm, no matter how hungry I am! I will drink green tea or water.

2. No chocolate! This is so going to be a challenge, but I really need to achieve this goal!

3. Workout everyday! No excuses! I am worth it and I want to look amazing and know that I look amazing!

4. Stick to my calorie goal and not go over just because I have extra calories from working out!

5. No alcohol! Although I may break this rule on saturday night as we have people coming for a bbq!

I think that is it for now. If I think of anything else I will be sure to let you know! But right now it is bed time! Hmmm perhaps that can be a rule too no later than 11 pm on a week night!
Nighty night xxx

Happy new year!

Posted on

So yes it is a little late. But better late than never right?

It is a very rainy summer day here and I am procrastinating, so what better way than by blogging!

I am writing this post on my phone! I am loving my phone. I have a Samsung Galaxy S II and I seriously do not go anywhere without it! It is my companion on my recent walks as it has a really cool ap that I downloaded that tracks my distance. Very cool indeed.

Anyway I must apologise for my extended break from blogging. I just wasn’t feeling it and I wasn’t really sticking to any sort of eating plan or exercising regularly. But now I am back and very motivated!

We had a lovely Christmas spent with M’s extended family in Camperdown, which is on the way to Warrnambool in the states southern coast. P had a very exciting and fun day.

image

Here he is on his new trampoline. He now jumps on it and says”thank you Santa!”

image

And here he is with M’s brother, S. They have swapped sunnies!

image

And here are the boys setting up P’s new Thomas trains.

We had a great time and this was the first year that P has kinda understood what Christmas is all about.

Our New Year celebrations were fun too. We spent it with some talky close friends who we have not spent new years with for ages. So it was a nice change; and P played with our friends little girl so we really didn’t have to worry too much about the kids at all!

image

Here is F and I! We had such a fun night and we even played dress up and changed our dresses throughout the night! Once the kids had gone to bed we really let our hair down and I believe we spent most of the night on the trampoline! I think it was around 4 am when we eventually headed to bed! A big night but a lot of fun!

So I am not very good when it comes to new years resolutions, so I often just come up with things I would like to achieve. One is to be better with our finances and actually save money for a change! As always I want to loose more weight and get fit and healthy! Last year I started the year weighing 80.6 Kg. I finished the year weighing 73.6kg and put on about a kilo over new year and now weigh 74.5kg. I basically was just eating and drinking whatever I wanted and to be honest I was left feeling more than uncomfortable on more than one occasion! My lowest weight I have recorded is 71.5kg which was on the 13th December. Ideally I would love to get down to 70kg. Which brings me to my next challenge!

In 4 weeks time I will be going away with my girls to our usual spot but this time it will be beach weather (yay so exited!!!!). I believe this its the first time in years that I can safely say that I look ok in bathers and I don’t really need to wear shorts as my legs and thighs have toned up considerably from all the running I have done. In setting that though I want to look the best I possibly can in my bathers. So I am challenging myself to exercise everyday until we go away! This is a challenge as I don’t have a car at the moment so getting to the gym is hard but it has been 4 days so far and I have done something everyday! I know you need to give your body rest days but I am not going hard everyday and it is only for a short period. However I would like to continue exercising at least 5 days after we have been away. I just feel better for it (already) and have been really good with my food. I have tracked everyday and kept a close watch on what I have been putting in my mouth! So far so good but we will see on tuesday when I weigh in!

Ok I should be off time to get dressed and get on with my day!

I am going to try and post more regularly now so wish me luck!

See you again soon!
